National late abortion ban in the US?
I just spotted this article on facebook: http://thinkprogress.org/health/2015/01 ... -abortion/
It doesn't seem to have been picked up by my other news sources. Do you guys know anything about it?

This piece was from two years ago, and this has been an issue since the start of the very first day (literally) of Bush's second term here in the states, unfortunately.
There is some supporting information in this piece from 2009 here on the site: http://www.scarleteen.com/blog/heather_ ... t_abortion

Huh, I'll have to knock thinkprogress down a notch or two in my source reliability book, then. Thankyou, that explains why I couldn't find anything else about it.

Why? The date is on the piece right at the top of it under the title. If someone was linking it as something very current, that's on them, not the source.

The date on the piece is yesterday, though. And having now looked through a few of the inline links, it looks like if thinkprogress were mislead, it probably wasn't their fault - The Hill is also reporting that the bills were reintroduced this week (after passing in the house but failing in the senate, I think?), and the official(?) congress site seems to confirm that for one of them.

Ah, my error, sorry about that. It may be this has been brought up yet again, mind you. Like I said, it's been an issue for quite some time now.

It happens!
It does seem that the legislation has been floating around a long while, yeah. It's concerning if it now has a better chance of becoming law, though.

I'm afraid to say this is one of those things where I think we have to accept that it very well may. After all, for a good decade and more now, policy changes like this have been happening and adding up, with baby steps taken in politics to make things like this possible.
So, unless a good half of this country starts voting very differently, we are going to keep seeing things like this, and the restrictions will get more and more restrictive.
