Driving
I'm so stressed and nervous about learning how to drive, I haven't even driven a car yet I waited so long until I'm ready and I'm ready now and I just want to not be nervous! Any advice would be helpful, thanks!

Hey carrotcake122,
It's completely understandable to be nervous about a new experience. It's also common to experience nerves and excitement at the same time, with trouble deciphering between the two. I hear you say that you feel ready to learn to drive, but are still experiencing some anxiety. Where do you think this anxiety is coming from? Are there specific things that are making you anxious?

Re: Driving
I'm just anxious with just driving in general, it's a really big responsibility to get on the wheel. I just want to be good at it you know?

Re: Driving
I hear that. I was quite anxious when I first started learning how to drive myself, but a great instructor and plenty of practice helped ease my anxiety. What's your plan to learn? Do you have friends or family members you can practice with? Do you have a formal instructor who you plan to learn from?

I'm planning on going to driving school which is exciting so an instructor can show me but I think them just judging my every move makes me nervous!

Re: Driving
I'm glad to hear you're going to attend driving school! Would you believe me if I said the instructors are professionals who teach people just like you every day, therefore they're unlikely to judge? Driving instructors work with tons of people and are exposed to many forms of anxiety around driving, nerves behind the wheel, and mistakes along the way. But this is their job! Being a beginner is nothing to be ashamed of. How does all this sound?
