Struggling to get my new dildo to fit

Unread post by FormlessEntity »

I've been using a glass dildo with a circumference of 3 inches and that has always been super easy to insert, no lube required.

Recently I bought a new silicone dildo with a maximum circumference of 5 inches and no matter how much lube I use or how aroused I am, it won't go past the bit a few inches in that is smaller than the rest of the vagina. I wasn't expecting this much resistance because my glass dildo just slides right in.

Any explanation or advice would be great, thanks! :)

hey there FormlessEntity and welcome to the boards!

So, I can think of some things that might be making the transition to your new dildo a bit more difficult than expected. For one, silicone tends to stick more than glass and often can cause some drag on the skin unless lube is used. It also seems that you've increased the circumference by a significant amount with this new dildo. Increasing by that much may just take time to adjust to and to deal with some of the issues of insertion, I would recommend a water-based lube. How does this sound to you?

Are you experiencing any pain or discomfort when using your new dildo?

I am using a water based lube, but you're right about the silicone sticking more. I'm only experiencing pain when I try to push it past the 'rim'.

Thanks for clarifying for me about the lube!

I would say to avoid pushing past your limit when it comes to inserting the dildo. If you're experiencing pain it's probably good to take a break. I want to add that it's not an uncommon experience to have a limit of what feels good with penetration especially when it comes to girth.

I encourage you to keep experimenting with your new dildo (and plenty of lube) and if it feels painful, sticking to something closer to the 3 inches for right now may feel more pleasurable and enjoyable for you.

Two things to consider too when experimenting with your new dildo: 1) the angle of insertion.
Sometimes it's all about getting the right angle (especially with more girth) that fits your anatomy so, see if being prone vs sitting may change anything for you.

2) slow insertion combined with other pleasurable stimulation (clitoral, nipple, etc).
Because you're used to the sensation of the glass dildo just slipping in maybe there's some of the same expectations with this new dildo. See if taking it more slowly and allowing your body to be aroused and relaxed during the insertion helps.

Let me know if you have any other questions for me! Or if anything comes up with my suggestions.
