healing from a breakup
hey,
so i just broke it off with my boyfriend a day ago. it was because i realised it was draining me, not meeting my emotional needs and that he wasn’t the right one for me. i’ve just been sitting here with my thoughts and i can’t get him out of my head. i went on a run, cooked some lunch, tried watching my favourite show. but i just feel so empty despite feeling lighter. i keep thinking about all the things i did wrong in that relationship. i know healing isn’t meant to be a linear process but everything reminds me of him and it hurts

Re: healing from a breakup
Hey, tvrbvlnc!
I am very proud of you for making such a tough decision, but ultimately one that sounds best for you. It sounds like you are making efforts and strides towards healing, but you are right in that it is very rarely linear.
I have something that I would like to provide for you to read. It is an article we have called Getting Through a Breakup Without Actually Breaking. More specifically, there is a section called 'The Lowdown' that has actionable steps. I hope this can give you some more ideas about ways to heal in addition to feeling your feelings and distractions.
