Effective?

Unread post by Questionss »

When i took my birth control pill this morning i didnt swallow it fast enough so it might have dissolved a bit in my mouth. Does this change the effectiveness or count as a missed pill?

Hi Questions,

No, this does not change the effectiveness of the pill.

Ok. So if you use the bathroom shortly after taking the pill does this change the effectiveness?

Hi Questions,

The only instance where bowel movements may impact the effectiveness of the pill is if you've had diarrhea within a few hours of taking the pill.

So even if it dissolves as long as it gets into my body it should still be ok right? Because this happened to me and i was planning on having sex tonight

The pill should not have been compromised, but backing up with condoms means that, even if it was, you should still be well-protected.
