Birth Control Question
Just started my second month on the bc pill Microgynon. I saw my doctor, was prescribed & started taking it the day my period finished. The first couple of weeks were perfect with very few side effects. However four days before my week off the pill i started getting quite heavy breakthrough bleeding. This continued up until I finished my last pill after which i had my normal period immediately. Does this indicate that my birth control pill is not right for me & not giving adequate protection?

Re: Birth Control Question
Hi Niamhe,
Spotting is a possible side effect of the pill, and since you've only been on it a month or so, your body is still likely adjusting to it, which could cause some irregularity. There's no reason this would make your pill less effective.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
