birth control pill

Hi! I am on the pill for 5 months now. Today I forgot I had already taken the pill and I took another one. Is there a problem with taking two pill in one day? Will that affect the effectiveness of the pill?

Hi Silverc,

Continue to take your pill as usual. Anytime that you have a concern about effectiveness you should back up with condoms.

Now that you have a pill missing from your packet, it is best to refer to the informational packet or consult with your doctor/pharmacist who can provide specific directions for the type of pill that you are taking.

All right, thank you! I do have an extra pack I keep in case I need it... I'll try writing my doctor an e-mail to see what I can do.

Oh so if I take a pill from that pack tomorrow and than continue to take my pills as usual I should be fine? (I will still be using condoms. Me and my boyfriend always do)

Yes. So since you took Saturday and Sunday's pill today, take Sunday's pill from the spare pack tomorrow and continue as usual.
