One method of contraception - is it still effective?

My boyfriend and I have started doing sexual activities together, for example, sometimes he puts his penis at my vulva and just leaves it there without it going in. I am on the birth control shot which I have always received at the proper time. However, once in a while he doesn't use a condom. Am I at a risk for pregnancy if he does this but it does not go inside me? Even if he pre-ejaculates, am I still at risk? Or am I safe with the shot?

So, assuming you're getting the shot on time, you can assume you have the protection that it offers. But, backing up with a condom helps further lower the risk. You can read more about that here:

And, just to check, are you both u to date on your STI tests?

Both of us are virgins and we are eachother's first boyfriend/girlfriend. Would that mean that neither of us have an STD? Neither of us have HIV/AIDS or anything like that either.
