Sex toy cleaning question

If it doesn't seem to fit anywhere else, this is probably the place for it.

Sex toy cleaning question

Unread post by Wolverine22 »

Hi everyone, I used to be Wolverine22 on the old boards, and four years later, I'm back!

I've had three silicone strokers for about a year and a half now. I'd been cleaning them just by giving them a good rinse, but now all of a sudden, all three smell like fish, and no matter what I do to clean them, I can't get rid of it! I gave all three a good scrubdown with soap and water, and today I dunked them in boiling water for several minutes, and I still can't get rid of that damn fishy smell. Any advice for finally finishing the job?

Nice to see you again! :)

Have you tried soaking them overnight in a water and vinegar solution, then rinsing them out?

Nope, sounds like a good idea though. Hopefully that will take care of it, because I really don't want my bedroom smelling like fish. That's a pretty big turn-off.

I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest and occasionally, the air will, indeed, smell pretty fishy, and I hear you, it's not pleasant. :)

If that doesn't work for you (it really should), another thing people do sometimes with silicons toys that get funky is to do a baking soda and water soak.
