What counts as a late pill?
Hello!
Im usually very good at taking my BC on time at exactly 8:00pm every night. This time I forgot to set my alarm and missed the pill by 2h30mins. It was the first active pill of this month's pack that I missed. I took it as soon as I rememberd. How late is late for a pill? Will my 2h30min time gap mess up the effectiveness of the pill and cause issues in preventing pregnancy? (Also if my time gap is nothing go worry about, what amount of time is enough to screw with the pill?)
Thanks in advance,
Have a nice day!

Re: What counts as a late pill?
For combined pills (two kinds of hormones) a pill isn't considered late until it's at least 12 hours past the time you would normally take it. A missed pill is one that's taken at least 24 hours after you would normally take it. So if you usually take your pill at 8 pm, then it wouldn't be late unless you took it after 8 am the next morning.

Alrighty, thanks!
But just to be clear, nothing should be affected and everything with my pill will be fine, correct?

Re: What counts as a late pill?
That's correct, if a pill isn't late then the effectiveness isn't compromised.
