While IUDs can technically fall out without you noticing, that situation is very rare. Too, if you were regularly checking for the strings you would notice if your IUD was no longer present.

I've never been able to feel my strings. But my fiance can. He has checked for me twice now. He said once it felt more curled around my cervix and again it felt more straight.
