Advice on trying something new in the bedroom

Unread post by Mars0616 »

Hi new user here (sent from r/bdsmadvice),
I’ve been with my gf for nearly 3 years and we’ve been having sex for around 2 and a half years of that. We have both discussed exploring some avenues containing non vanilla elements specifically her wanting to be tied up. I’m here to ask for advice about what I can buy to achieve this and how I can tie her so she can feel restricted while also able to get out if she feels uncomfortable.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mars!

It's nice to see that subreddit is recommending our services!

If you are able, I think my main piece of advice would be to try and buy some rope which is designed for use in the bedroom... because specialised stuff tends to be comfortable and, importantly, easy to untie. I understand that knots tied with materials such as silk ties, or strips of fabric, can tighten, making it very difficult to untie, but that's a little on the edge of my knowledge on the area.

I wouldn't be surprised if anywhere you got such rope from would also carry books with advice on how to use rope safely. You might also find that workshops are available where you and your partner can learn these things with proper guidance.

I hope this helps.

One bonus safety tip: invest in a pair of scissors you know can cut through whatever you're using as rope, and make sure they're always within arm's reach. It's important to be able to release your partner quickly and easily, in case something's tied too tight, or there's an issue with cramping or circulation.
