Fingering hurts.

I have tried to finger myself before, many times, but my vaginal hole/opening seems to be quite tender/sore and hurts when I put my finger inside or even to just push my finger inside. I use lube and I wait until I am wet, I also don’t go really fast or rough. Why does it still hurt after trying many times?

Hi Olivia,

Ouch, that sounds really unpleasant! If you're finding that using lots of lube and making sure you're aroused doesn't seem to be changing things, it may be time to check in with a healthcare provider to see if there's a underlying physical cause. You can also check out this article to see if some of the reasons mentioned in it might apply to you (it's written about intercourse, but much of the advice applies to fingering during masturbation as well): From OW! to WOW!
