First time masturbating

Help! I just tried penetration for the first time. The object that I used was long, thinner than my pinky finger and clean and it felt good but also stung a little bit. There was a small amount of bleeding that has gone away 30 minutes later and it stings a little bit when I pee. Is that normal or should I not have masturbated??? Please help - I'm really anxious!

Hi Kibbybanks,

We can't know for certain what caused the bleeding, although a likely explanation is that you caused a small cut or tear with whatever you were using. That doesn't mean you shouldn't be masturbating (masturbation is a totally normal and fine thing to do), but it may mean that you need to find a new way to do it that doesn't involve this object. Can I ask what you used and whether you covered it with a condom?
