period's kinda MIA
hi! so my period's been consistently on an under-28-day cycle for the past few months
it's been around 27ish days since my last period and it isn't here yet which is freaking me out slightly
i did engage in sexual activities w my boyfriend this month but it was only dry humping, manual and oral sex so i know it's not bc of a pregnancy risk, but it keeps lingering at the back of my mind
idk what's causing this, why is my period MIA?

Hi naurmi008,
There are actually a number of things besides pregnancy that can cause a period to be late. You can read about those here: M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period?
Too, it's common for periods to come a few days earlier or later than expected without anything else going on.If you have a regular cycle, what's most common is a standard deviation of about 3.5 days on average. That means that someone whose cycle is what would be considered regular could have a cycle that was 29 days, then 31 days the next time, then 26 days, and that'd still be a regular period.

Re: period's kinda MIA
i read through the article, it helped me calm down a bit, thank you!
idk why i'm so anxious though, i mean i've done the exact same sexual acts in the past and i felt totally anxiety-free
maybe bc those times my period came early but this time my period's not here yet (which admittedly is stressing me out)
how do i calm myself down?

Do you have things that help you calm down when you're feeling anxious about other topics that you could employ here?

I mean, those are both pretty effective approaches in some cases! If you haven't checked them out before, I'd take a look through some of the different resources listed here; they offer a number of different approaches for managing anxiety: Anxiety and Other Mental Health Resources
