I would like to masturbate it seems fun but I always get bored. None of my fantasies or even explicit reading material keep me interested enough to actually feel anything. Any advice on how to make things less boring?

Hi artistkitty,

There are a few different things you could try. One could be to keep exploring different kinds of sexual media (for instance, maybe visual or auditory sexual media is more arousing for you than written media) and experimenting with different fantasies. I really like the advice in this article as a starting place for creating and connecting with fantasy: How to Approach Sexual Fantasy and Desire on Your Own Terms.

Another option could be to see if focusing on the physical sensations of masturbation helps it feel exciting and engaging to you. You could also see if incorporating new sensations--sex toys, wearing specific clothes, etc--makes things more interesting for you. Does any of that sound doable?
