Possible scare?

Unread post by Starwell »

hello, recently I had a little scare that I’m still worried about. I’m not sure if it’s a pregnancy risk or not, Im hoping someone can help clarify for me. My partner and I were intimate, and he had fingered me. His hands were dry, and he hadn’t touched himself. I also touched him and I felt pre cum. Shortly after I reached to put my underwear back on, but my fingers grazed the inside crotch area of them and I put them on without realizing. I think my hands were still wet with precum. I done my best to resolve my worries on my own, but I came here because I’m not sure I’ve been reading reliable articles from Google. I’ve looked at several of the articles here on scarleteen but I figured I’d ask as well, I want to be as informed as possible so this won’t happen again.

Hi Starwell and welcome to the boards!

We have some great articles on here that'd be great to read on reproduction and pregnancy risk to start.
Can I Get Pregnant, or Get or Pass On an STI From That?

Human Reproduction: A Seafarer's Guide

Simply grazing your hand near your vulva does not pose risk for pregnancy - even if precum was on your hand at one point.

Some important things to consider are,
How/where did the touch occur on the body?
How long has the potential sperm been outside of someone's body?

Although pregnancy risk is not always straight forward or simple, questions like that can help us evaluate our risk.

hi thank you for the articles I appreciate it! He didn’t ejaculate, I think it was just pre - ejaculation. I had some wetness on my hands when I touched the inside of my underwear and put them on. As for how long it had been outside the body I think maybe a minute?

Sorry I think I originally misunderstood, I see now that you touched your underwear and not your body.

There is no risk for pregnancy from that 'contact' with your underwear. Even if sperm traveled from a penis, to your hand, then underwear, it would not also be able to travel all the way to an egg - that is a lot of barriers!

Does that make sense?
