pain when urinating
Hi all,
So yesterday I was trying out for the prostate play for the first time that went really well!
However later on that day when I was urinating my perineum really cramped up involuntary (probably not the medical term but its the best way I can describe it) and it was really pretty painful. Luckily the pain subsided after a few minutes but I am worried that if I try that type of play again a similar experience might happen. I have also been practicing Kegel exercises for a few weeks as I have heard its meant to be good for stuff like your pelvic floor. Do you think these exercises might have caused the problem and is it possible to overstimulate that area?
Thanks in advance.

Hi CuteKitten!
It's definitely possible to overstimulate the area. Perineum pain can have many causes, but it's not unheard of to overwork your body! It's almost like exercise; you have to be sure to prep and stretch to prepare your body. It's possible that this may also just be a 'side effect' of trying out prostate play and that it'll subside the more you get used to it. I don't think it's inherently something you should worry about, but make sure to keep an eye on your pain and listen to your body!

Hi CaitlinEve
I think that is a really good point about listening to my body and not forcing things. I sometimes get overexcited especially when trying something new so taking things slow is definitely a good idea. Taken a few days of and there is no pain! Thanks for your help as I didn't really want to ask my parents that question as its kinda embarrassing.

Also! Kegels really aren't something for young people without muscular issues/slackness in the pelvis to do. Absolutely they can create tightness in areas or with muscles that you ideally want to soften and relax.
So, unless a healthcare provider says to do them, you probably are better off not.

Hi yea that's a good point,
I didn't get told to do them by a healthcare provider, I just saw it on the internet and it seemed like a good idea at the time
Do you think my muscles will relax naturally if I stop doing these exercises or would doing stretches be a good idea?

Just stop doing them and whatever tightness doing them was causing will resolve itself soon enough. No worries!
